What to expect

Yoga as therapy, not performance

Crawford Wellness yoga is guided by body mechanics rather than dogma.

Jocela trained in the evidence-based wing of the yoga world through Iyengar certified teachers and brings incredible knowledge of body mechanics, alignment and just pure fun to each class.

Every pose is adjusted to each person's unique body structure, ability, and attitude not the other way around. Fit the person not the pose.

Anyone recovering from life's injuries, caring for an aging body, needing nervous system balancing or just a sense of true community to build self resilience will find a home here.

Jocela Mae Crawford, RYT

Jocela's teachings center on trust and exploration to listen and move freely. Though a lifetime practitioner of yoga, she completed her formal training in 2010 in her hometown at the Shasta Yoga Institute under yoga therapist Amy Cooper. Since then she has pursued deep study of yoga and biomechanics with teachers up and down the West Coast and with Laurel Beversdorf in New York City — one of yoga's leading evidence-based movement educators. She works alongside local physical therapists, chiropractors and acupuncturists as a team to all that come to her classes. Jocela provides so much more than just yoga- it is yoga as therapy.
