About this product
Build Energy Gently
Sol Tea is Botanical Biohacking’s Imperial Grade version of Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang, a four-ingredient formula from the Shang Han Lun (Treatise on Cold Damage), one of Chinese medicine’s most revered classical texts, written nearly 2,000 years ago. It is as notable for its simplicity as its standing: four of the gentlest herbs in the pharmacopeia.
Who Sol Tea Is For
At Crawford Wellness we reach for Sol Tea for people who are too depleted for stronger tonics: the ones who feel worse rather than better on Cordyceps, Ginseng, Astragalus, or Dang Gui. In TCM terms this is spleen qi deficiency with dampness: bloating, a heavy or foggy feeling, dizziness on standing, fatigue, and a pale, scalloped tongue.
The Shang Han Lun describes this person as no longer acutely ill but still weak, someone whose system is too damp to take a rich tonic.
Ingredients & Their Actions in TCM
- Fu Ling / Poria: the chief herb. Strengthens the spleen, resolves dampness, and calms the heart and mind.
- Gui Zhi / Cinnamon Twig Tips: warms and unblocks the yang qi and helps the body transform dampness.
- Bai Zhu / White Atractylodes: strengthens the spleen and stomach and dries dampness.
- Gan Cao / Honey-Baked Licorice: tonifies spleen qi and harmonizes the formula.
It has a genuinely delicious sweet flavor.
How to Brew Sol Tea
Place 1–5 teabags in a pot of water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10–20 minutes. Strain and drink. Or steep as a normal herbal tea; multiple long infusions are recommended.
