Clear the Shaoyang.
Refresh the Lungs and Gut.
Peak Tea is a streamlined herbal formula built on two respected classical formulas, Xiao Chai Hu Tang and San Ren Tang. Several herbs from the originals were removed to concentrate on the most active ingredients, led by wild-crafted Tibetan Chai Hu (Bupleurum).
Also pairs well with Wind Tea.
In TCM Terms
Peak Tea opens, lifts, and clears heat from the shaoyang layer, the semi-interior zone between the surface and the organs. It also restores the descending function of the Lungs and aromatically transforms and drains dampness. At Crawford Wellness we use it within our practitioner-guided protocols for shaoyang and damp-heat patterns.
Ingredients
- Chai Hu / Bupleurum Radix (wild-crafted, Tibet): the chief herb. Opens the shaoyang, clears heat, and moves liver qi. Wild-crafted Tibetan Chai Hu is prized over commercially grown roots.
- Yin Chen Hao / Artemisiae Scopariae: clears heat and dampness from the liver and gallbladder. The key addition that distinguishes Peak Tea from the classical formulas.
- Ku Xing Ren / Bitter Apricot Kernel: restores the descending function of the lungs.
- Bai Dou Kou / White Cardamom: aromatically transforms dampness, warms the middle jiao, and moves qi.
- Yi Yi Ren / Job’s Tears: drains dampness, strengthens the spleen, and clears heat.
How to Brew Peak Tea
Boil 1–2 teabags for 20–30 minutes rather than simply steeping. This draws out the full character of Chai Hu and the other roots.

Rectify the Qi.
Transform the Damp.
Atone Tea is Botanical Biohacking’s Imperial Grade version of Huo Xiang Zheng Qi Tang (藿香正气汤), “Agastache Formula to Rectify the Qi.” It is one of the most widely recognized formulas in Chinese medicine and has been brewed in China for centuries. Smooth, sweet, and genuinely delicious.
In TCM Terms
Atone Tea aromatically transforms dampness, rectifies the qi, releases the exterior, and harmonizes the middle jiao. At Crawford Wellness we reach for it for the heavy, damp pattern: a sluggish, weighed-down feeling, a full or unsettled stomach, and low appetite, especially in humid weather or after rich food. It is a favorite summer and autumn tea.
Ingredients
- Huo Xiang / Agastache: the chief herb. Our leaf:stem ratio is ≥1:2, well above the pharmacopeia minimum of 1:4.
- Zi Su Ye / Perilla Leaf: top-quality purple-backed leaves sourced through direct connections.
- Bai Zhi / Angelica Dahurica
- Da Fu Pi / Areca Peel
- Bai Zhu / White Atractylodes
- Fu Ling / Poria
- Ban Xia Qu / Fermented Pinellia
- Hou Po / Magnolia Bark
- Jie Geng / Platycodon
- Chen Pi / Aged Citrus Peel
- Gan Cao / Licorice Root
Why This Version Is Different
- Ban Xia Qu vs. Fa Ban Xia: Most Huo Xiang Zheng Qi on the market uses Fa Ban Xia (processed with alum). Botanical Biohacking uses the original Ban Xia Qu, fermented with ginger juice and Shen Qu, as the classical formula calls for.
- Leaf-rich Huo Xiang: more leaf means more of the aromatic oils the formula is known for.
- Zi Su Ye sourcing: Botanical Biohacking sources its Perilla through direct relationships; look for the deep purple color on the back of each leaf.
How to Brew Atone Tea
Boil water and add 1–4 teabags. Steep covered for 10–20 minutes, strain and sip. Re-brew the same teabags several times until no flavor or aroma remains.

Traditional Circulation Formula
Neurogene Tea is an Imperial-grade modification of Bu Yang Huan Wu Tang, the classical formula from Wang Qing-Ren's Yi Lin Gai Cuo (1830). It is built for the TCM pattern of qi deficiency with blood stasis, where the body lacks the energy to keep blood moving freely through the channels.
Our modification adds Tian Ma and Gou Teng, traditionally used to calm internal wind, and small amounts of Da Huang, Qing Lian Qiao, and Jin Yin Hua to clear hidden heat.
Who Neurogene Tea Is For
- People whose licensed practitioner has identified qi deficiency with blood stasis
- That pattern often shows up as tired, heavy limbs, cold hands and feet, and a pale or purplish tongue
- Anyone following a practitioner-guided Crawford Wellness herbal protocol
How It Works, in TCM Terms
- Tonifies qi — gives the body the energy to move blood
- Invigorates blood and breaks stasis — keeps the channels open
- Calms internal wind
- Clears hidden heat
Ingredients
- Huang Qi / Astragalus Root — the chief herb; strongly tonifies qi
- Dang Gui / Chinese Angelica Root — nourishes and invigorates blood
- Chuan Xiong / Ligusticum Root — moves qi and blood, especially toward the head
- Chi Shao / Red Peony Root — cools and invigorates blood
- Tao Ren / Peach Kernel — breaks blood stasis
- Hong Hua / Safflower — invigorates blood through the channels
- Tian Ma / Gastrodia Tuber — calms internal wind
- Gou Teng / Uncaria Stem — calms the liver and extinguishes wind
- Da Huang / Rhubarb Root — in small amounts, clears heat and moves blood
- Jin Yin Hua / Honeysuckle Flower — clears heat
- Qing Lian Qiao / Green Forsythia Fruit — see the Nerdy Highlight below
Nerdy Highlight: Why We Use Qing Lian Qiao
Lian Qiao comes in two forms: 青翘 Qing Qiao (green, harvested July–September, steamed and dried) and 老翘 Lao Qiao (old, harvested in October, dried). The difference matters:
- Qing Qiao is better at clearing lung heat; Lao Qiao clears large intestine heat
- Qing Qiao has a much higher volatile oil content, and its forsythiaside content is up to 10 times higher than Lao Qiao
In Neurogene Tea we use Qing Qiao exclusively, to clear hidden liver heat and, in classical terms, brighten the eyes.
How to Brew Neurogene Tea
This tea contains seeds and roots, so boil for 20–30 minutes for full extraction. Do not simply steep.
Do not use during pregnancy. Consult your pharmacist before use if you take blood-thinning medication. Consult your licensed TCM practitioner or healthcare provider before use if nursing.

Common questions
Many are, but it depends on the formula. Chinese herbal medicine is used alongside conventional care every day in East Asia, and that is how we work too — we will never ask you to stop a prescription. That said, some botanicals do interact with common medications. Check the safety notes on the individual product page, and if you are on multiple prescriptions, bring the formula to your prescribing provider or ask us first.
You can start on your own. The protocol packages exist precisely so you have a sensible starting point without a consultation, and the free articles and videos are there to help you choose. If you have a complicated history — several diagnoses, a long medication list, or symptoms that have resisted everything — a consultation will save you money rather than cost it.
Honestly, it varies enough that any number we printed here would be misleading. Some people notice a shift in days; for others it is a matter of months, and for chronic conditions the work is usually measured in months rather than weeks. What we can say is that if nothing at all has changed after a full course, the formula is probably wrong for you — and that is worth a conversation, not a second bottle.
Our botanicals are sustainably wildcrafted in partnership with Chengdu University of TCM and Southwest Minzu University, and tested for purity and potency at an independent Chinese FDA-certified laboratory in Sichuan Province. Where a product comes from a partner brand, that is named on the product page.
