About this product

Traditional Circulation Formula

Neurogene Tea is an Imperial-grade modification of Bu Yang Huan Wu Tang, the classical formula from Wang Qing-Ren's Yi Lin Gai Cuo (1830). It is built for the TCM pattern of qi deficiency with blood stasis, where the body lacks the energy to keep blood moving freely through the channels.

Our modification adds Tian Ma and Gou Teng, traditionally used to calm internal wind, and small amounts of Da Huang, Qing Lian Qiao, and Jin Yin Hua to clear hidden heat.

Who Neurogene Tea Is For

  • People whose licensed practitioner has identified qi deficiency with blood stasis
  • That pattern often shows up as tired, heavy limbs, cold hands and feet, and a pale or purplish tongue
  • Anyone following a practitioner-guided Crawford Wellness herbal protocol

How It Works, in TCM Terms

  • Tonifies qi β€” gives the body the energy to move blood
  • Invigorates blood and breaks stasis β€” keeps the channels open
  • Calms internal wind
  • Clears hidden heat

Ingredients

  • Huang Qi / Astragalus Root β€” the chief herb; strongly tonifies qi
  • Dang Gui / Chinese Angelica Root β€” nourishes and invigorates blood
  • Chuan Xiong / Ligusticum Root β€” moves qi and blood, especially toward the head
  • Chi Shao / Red Peony Root β€” cools and invigorates blood
  • Tao Ren / Peach Kernel β€” breaks blood stasis
  • Hong Hua / Safflower β€” invigorates blood through the channels
  • Tian Ma / Gastrodia Tuber β€” calms internal wind
  • Gou Teng / Uncaria Stem β€” calms the liver and extinguishes wind
  • Da Huang / Rhubarb Root β€” in small amounts, clears heat and moves blood
  • Jin Yin Hua / Honeysuckle Flower β€” clears heat
  • Qing Lian Qiao / Green Forsythia Fruit β€” see the Nerdy Highlight below

Nerdy Highlight: Why We Use Qing Lian Qiao

Lian Qiao comes in two forms: ι’ηΏ˜ Qing Qiao (green, harvested July–September, steamed and dried) and θ€ηΏ˜ Lao Qiao (old, harvested in October, dried). The difference matters:

  • Qing Qiao is better at clearing lung heat; Lao Qiao clears large intestine heat
  • Qing Qiao has a much higher volatile oil content, and its forsythiaside content is up to 10 times higher than Lao Qiao

In Neurogene Tea we use Qing Qiao exclusively, to clear hidden liver heat and, in classical terms, brighten the eyes.

How to Brew Neurogene Tea

This tea contains seeds and roots, so boil for 20–30 minutes for full extraction. Do not simply steep.

Do not use during pregnancy. Consult your pharmacist before use if you take blood-thinning medication. Consult your licensed TCM practitioner or healthcare provider before use if nursing.
